Originally, Wolfgang Gebauer pursued a technical career. In addition to his vocational activities, the lyric baritone’s entire life always has been devoted to art as well.

Discovering his love for music already at a very young age, he started with piano at the age of eight, and received training for piano and eventually also pipe organ for several years. This served as a solid foundation for being able to study his parts as a singer later without external help.

His education to become a singer started as a young adult. He was coached by renowned singers and pedagogues, such as Prof. H. Kobayashi, Ronald Carter, Riccardo Lombardi, and Stephen Owen. As of 2015, he is under the care of Prof. Thomas Gropper, Professor for singing, speech training, and vocal pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.

Wolfgang Gebauer appears as a soloist as well as in choirs. Between 2010 and 2012 he was a member of the Kammerchor Vocalis, a highly acclaimed chamber choir performing classical and sacred repertoire Germany-wide. As of spring 2014 he sings with the extra chorus of the Augsburg Theatre, meanwhile having showed his skills in more than 100 shows in the Main House as well as on the open air stage. At events such as the Night of Stars in his place of residence Friedberg, he is a well-received guest as a soloist.

In the future, further appearances with the extra chorus of the Augsburg Theatre and Lieder recitals are planned. Moreover, the Oratorio repertoire will be given a special focus.
